U.S. Ply has engineered and developed SafeWeld™ APP (Atactic Polypropylene), cold applied/heat welded seams, modified bitumen membrane to meet or exceed the industry standards for high performance membranes.

U.S. Ply begins with prime grades of asphalt which are then modified with thermoplastic (APP) polymers. The result is a modified bitumen compound that demonstrates revolutionary waterproofing characteristics, extreme heat resistance, low temperature flexibility and excellent elongation properties. U.S. Ply then strategically adds reinforcements of polyester or composite fibers in the modified bitumen compound to incorporate additional performance characteristics into the membrane.

To compliment the SafeWeld™ modified bitumen membranes, U.S. Ply uses SafeWeld™ Premium APP Modified Bitumen Adhesive to adhere the membrane to selected substrates and base sheets. The SafeWeld™ APP modified bitumen membrane seams are then heat welded to form a complete seal to provide an excellent seal.

U.S. Ply uses a proven APP adhesive technology in its SafeWeld™ APP adhesives that has been performing in the United States for almost 2 decades.

The result is a modified bitumen compound that demonstrates revolutionary waterproofing characteristics, extreme heat resistance, low temperature flexibility and excellent elongation properties. U.S. Ply then strategically adds reinforcements of fiberglass, polyester or composite fibers in the modified bitumen compound to incorporate additional performance characteristics into the membrane.

DuraFlex™ TG SBS modified bitumen membranes are specifically designed to be heat-welded and cannot be adhered with hot asphalt or cold adhesive.

RAPIDGRIP™ SELF-ADHERING UNDERLAYMENTS:
RapidGRIP™ SR-200 is a skid-resistant, poly film surfaced, SBS (Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene) self-adhering membrane. Manufactured with a strong fiberglass mat that is saturated and coated with a premium quality, “high tack” asphaltic bitumen that is combined with durable SBS elastomers and protected by a split-back release film for easy installation. RapidGRIP™ SR-200 is specifically formulated to provide High Temperature Stability up to 260°F. It is ideal for use below metal, tile, slate and asphalt shingle applications.

Our USP™ ISO, USP™ Tapered ISO, USP™ ISO-CA and USP™ Tapered ISO-CA are made with environmentally compliant blowing agents that enhance the thermal performance of the insulation without producing harmful HCFC’s (hydrochlorofluorocarbons). In addition, the facer is made from recycled material meaning USP Insulations are a cost effective “Green” building solution. U.S. Ply also markets Structodek and Securock cover boards which are produced from recycled materials.
